Prenatal & Postpartum Care

Keeping Mothers Healthy

Pregnant woman in a purple dressPhysical and hormonal changes effect women both during and after pregnancy. These fluctuations can cause excessive joint mobility, weakness in the core, and altered mobility and function of the spine.

Our dual pelvic floor and orthopedic evaluations screen for the many challenges confronting pregnant and postpartum women, as well as women trying to become pregnant. Hands-on treatments then address spinal and pelvic joint issues, and targeted exercises empower patients to overcome muscle weakness and imbalance.

Before Pregnancy

Before you're pregnant, we can:

  • Strengthen your pelvic floor before it begins supporting your child
  • Address pain and discomfort during sex that could impede conception

During Pregnancy

While you're pregnant, we:

  • Screen for pelvic floor and orthopedic issues that could cause or contribute to lower back and joint pain
  • Prepare your body to give birth by continuing to strengthen and tone your pelvic floor

After Pregnancy

After your baby arrives, we will work to help you regain strength, tone, and balance in your pelvic floor and throughout your body. We will also address any post-partum issues that may arrive, such as:

  • C-section scars and mobilizing them to prevent adhesion
  • Diastatis Recti
  • Incontinence
  • Pain in the pelvic floor, hips, groin, or back
  • Prolapse

Before, during, and after pregnancy, we determine why you're experiencing any pain, discomfort, weakness, or imbalance, and develop a plan of care that is unique to you, with treatments including:
